FEBRUARY 2025 PARTNER LETTER

The Hurting World Needs Christ The Healer

(Mark 1:41) Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

Dear Our NCTC Partners,

May grace and peace abound in your lives.

From January 17 to 25, I went on a mission trip to Brazil to hold healing and evangelism meetings. During this trip, I ministered at three local churches, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and conducting healing services. As a result, many experienced healing and salvation through Jesus Christ. All glory to God!

In Brazil, witnessing so many souls longing for healing from the pain of sickness deeply reminded me of how devastating illnesses can be to people’s lives and how powerful God’s compassion to heal truly is. Around us, too, countless individuals are suffering and groaning under various afflictions. Yet, God fervently desires to heal and save them. And He needs you! Because God wants to work through you—through your life and body—as His channel to heal those in pain.

The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to men (Psalm 115:16). For God to accomplish His will on earth, He needs a physical vessel as His channel. This is why Jesus Christ, God incarnate, was sent to heal humanity’s cries of suffering. Having finished His redemptive work and ascended, Jesus has now delegated the ministry of healing to us, His body, on earth.

In this month’s Partner Letter, I want to share three important keys for you and me to healing the sick as His channels:

  1. Compassion for the sick

  2. Revelation of the Word on healing and authority (faith)

  3. The healing anointing

When we apply these three principles in healing the sick, we will witness amazing miracles as people experience healing and transformation.

1. Compassion for the Sick

(Mark 1:40-41, NKJV) 40 Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” 41 Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

(Matthew 14:14, NKJV) And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

The most crucial key for the flow of healing power is to see people through the eyes of Jesus, the Healer. The Gospels consistently describe how Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the sick and afflicted.

Compassion is “a deep emotional response to someone’s suffering, coupled with a strong desire to alleviate their pain.” Jesus deeply felt sorrow for those suffering from illnesses, and through God’s compassion, He healed them.

Jesus’ yearning to take others’ pain upon Himself ultimately led Him to the cross. When we pray to feel the pain of those suffering and meditate on the agony Jesus endured to remove that pain, we can more easily release the compassion of Jesus in front of the sick.

During my ministry in Brazil, I was deeply moved by Jesus’ compassion for the many souls suffering from physical and mental illnesses. As I prayed for them, I experienced the compassion of Jesus flowing through the power of the Holy Spirit to them. This resulted in miraculous healings, with many weeping as they were instantly restored. God wants to heal the suffering through us.

2. Revelation of the Word on Healing and Authority (Faith)

(Matthew 8:17, NKJV) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

(Mark 16:17-18, NKJV) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

The second key is understanding, through revelation, the work accomplished by Christ’s redemptive ministry and the authority He has given us. Sickness stems from sin and the work of the devil, but Jesus bore our sins and the curse of sickness in His body, paying the price in full and defeating the enemy. When we grasp this truth not just intellectually but through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, we can confidently drive out spirits of infirmity and minister healing by faith.

Such revelation is not passively received but actively pursued through seeking, knocking, and putting the Word into action. Jesus promised that those who seek will find, and those who knock will see doors opened. By practicing the Word, we grow in authority and faith as we experience victories and overcome challenges.

Confront the root cause of sickness—the spirit of infirmity—with the authority of Christ, knowing that the devil has been defeated. You will witness illnesses leaving quickly and people being healed.

3. The Anointing for Healing

(Acts 10:38, NKJV) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

(Luke 5:17, KJV) Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

(Acts 19:12, KJV) So that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.

The third key is understanding the healing anointing. Acts 10:38 highlights how Jesus healed the oppressed through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Luke 5:17 describes the power of the Lord to heal the sick was present as Jesus ministered. This healing anointing flowed through Jesus and brought healing to people.

The anointing for healing can also be transferred through the point of contact. In Acts 19:12, the anointing on Paul was transferred to handkerchiefs and aprons, which, when placed on the sick, healed diseases and drove out demons.

We can receive and increase the healing anointing by contacting with those strongly operating in it and through intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Praying in tongues and worshiping can also increase the anointing within us, allowing it to flow more powerfully. Hallelujah!

In conclusion, I’ve shared three keys I’ve learned in my healing journey:

  1. Compassion for the sick

  2. Revelation of the Word on healing and authority

  3. The anointing for healing

People suffering from various illnesses are searching for the healer, and we have something to give them! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He now lives in you and desires to heal the broken world through you.

Pursue compassion, revelation, and the anointing to bring healing to the sick. May you, through obedience and faith, bring the good news of Jesus Christ, followed by signs and miracles, to families and communities.

Let me conclude with this Scripture:

(2 Corinthians 9:10, NKJV) Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.

We bless the seed you sow into the NCTC ministry. May God, who provides seed to the sower, multiply your seed and the fruits of righteousness. The harvest of souls from our Brazil mission is a harvest we reap together. I believe that through our partnership, God will continue to multiply the harvest of souls worldwide through our ministry!

Sincerely,

NCTC Pastor John K. Cho and Paula Kim
